SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTS
A well equipped laboratory has been established for design and development of special purpose scientific, industrial and nuclear instruments including nuclear instruments. This facility has been utilized to design and develop the reactor instrumentation system of PARR-1 to replace the obsolete electronic instruments. This was an outstanding achievement, requiring high degree of sophistication and reliability, The reactor has now completed over a decade of excellent performance with the indigenous instrumentation and controls. Some of the designed and developed projects are in the following areas: Nuclear instrumentation channels for research reactors, channels for process monitoring, display and alarm, special purpose scientific instruments like electrochemical etching, high voltage supply, bandpass signal conditioning amplifier and dual tracking high voltage supply, etc., laboratory tests instruments, area radiation monitors and dose rate meters.
Repair and maintenance personnel at Electronics division, PINSTECH have a vast experience of maintaining electronic instruments ranging from the obsolete type to modern microprocessor based instruments. Some of the instruments repaired are: different types of spectrometers, quantometers, analyzers, process controllers, radiation monitoring and safety equipment, furnace controls, HVAC plant controls, X-ray machines, photocopiers, etc. PINSTECH is providing excellent services in this regard to other establishments of PAEC and is ready to extend its services to universities, research institutions and industry. Furthermore, testing and calibration of numerous electrical equipment can also be performed.
Periodic calibration of instruments is carried out to maintain their accuracy and reliability. A well equipped laboratory has been established with modern instruments for test and calibration of nuclear and other instruments.
