COMPUTER ORIENTED SERVICES
Computer oriented facilities were developed at PINSTECH in 1980 for providing round-the-clock computational facilities, repair and maintenance of computers and peripherals, design and development of software for process control and laboratory automation, application packages and training of professionals in computer applications. Central computing facility consists of SUN Compatible TATUNG CompStation 20 (Dual processor) and a TATUNG Ultracompstation U-Series machine.
Computer Division PINSTECH has developed the capability to implement microprocessor based instrumentation and control. APC-based system. In LabView environment, for reactor surveillance and fault detection was developed. Excellent services are available for interfacing and replacing obsolete computer systems interfaced with analytical instruments, designing and fabrication of Data Acquisition Modules for specific applications, and developments of Software/Hardware for laboratory automation and data acquisition using industry standard packages and microprocessor/microcontroller development systems.
Facilities have been developed for preventive maintenance of computer systems and peripherals. Numerous software for industrial control, programs/codes. Application packages using various databases and programming in LabView, Excel, Mathematica and Statistica, etc., were developed. To modernize existing office and management practices, databases can be developed using MS Access, Foxpro, Oracle, etc. A Printed Circuit Board layout designing and plotting facility using PCAD/ACAD is available.
We have vast experience in networking. Inhouse scalable Local Area Network (LAN) has several subnets, multiple domains and platforms. Its backbone consists of fibre, UTP & BNC. From technological perspective, we can provide local/wide/campus area network services. An Intranet for an enterprise can be designed and configured for connection to internet. Expert services are available for designing, integration, implementation and training for several types of network facilities. Value added services like ODBC, web designing and hosting are also available.
Computers and information technology related short courses are frequently arranged.
