Nuclear Medicine Oncology and Radiotherapy Institute (NORI)


Research, Teaching and Training Activities

Under the supervision of FCPS consultant oncologists, the Oncology and Radiotherapy Department has been recognized by CPSP as a training centre for MCPS and FCPS (Radiation Oncology) trainees. Many local and several foreign candidates have been trained successfully.

The Department of Medical Physics has been regularly teaching different aspects of radiation physics to the postgraduate students of radiology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and medical physics.

The Department of Nuclear Medicine has been actively involved in teaching of theoretical and practical aspects of Nuclear Medicine to the fellows of M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine Programme of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission. Every year, two M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine Fellows are attached with NORI for carrying out research projects and practical training in this field.

Recently, the Department of Nuclear Medicine has also been recognized by CPSP for FCPS training in Nuclear Medicine.

All the three departments are actively collaborating with several institutes and hospitals of the region for teaching and training of candidates in the respective fields. Most noteworthy is the teaching of various classes in the respective fields in Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nilore, Islamabad.
