Introduction

Established in 1982, the main objective of NIFA is to promote peaceful application of atomic energy in the fields of food and agricultural research. This institute is the third agriculture center of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC). The PAEC has made every endeavour to make available the trained manpower and required facilities essential for the pursuit of problem oriented research. In NIFA the main focus of the research is on the development of improved techniques for increasing the yield of important food crops and the development of the package of technologies for conservation of agricultural produce in the country by the use of nuclear and other relevant techniques.
