National Centre for Non-Destructive Testing (NCNDT)

Functions

The centre provides non destructive testing services to  various industries and conducts training courses for all public and private sector organizations as well as to PAEC establishments.

The centre is fully equipped and well staffed for carrying out the following jobs:

i) Training of NDT personnel at various levels.

ii) Certification of NDT personnel at various levels.

iii) NDT services to PAEC establishments and various  industrial sector of Pakistan during manufacture,fabrication, Pre-service Inspection (PSI) and In-service Inspection (ISI).

iv) Mechanical testing of materials, weld procedure,and welder qualification.

v)  Third party inspection.

It is also planned to develop in the future the capability to:-

i) Increase the collection of  NDT test pieces such as to provide training and certification in   numerous industrial sectors.

ii) Expand education and training in NDT to encompass     polytechnique and other technical institutions.

iii) Undertake Research and Development (R & D) to evolve techniques for solution of specific industrial problems.

iv)  R & D to introduce additional and advanced NDT methods and equipment to the national industry.

v)   R & D to develop locally as many NDT instruments and equipment as possible.

vi)  Develop applications of NDT in materials analysis and development.
