PAEC’s MINAR conducted a two-day workshop on “Sentinel Node Imaging” as part of the national course on nuclear medicine
programme. Dr. Mohammad Reza Keshtgar of the Royal Free Hospital, London was the resource person and hands on training was provided on a breast simulator specially sent by the IAEA from Vienna. The workshop was followed by scanning on two patients who were followed up in the operation theater and the nodes were harvested by Dr. Keshtgar and the breast surgery team of Nishtar Hospital. It has been proposed that MINAR might be nominated as the national training centre for sentinel node scanning and clinical audit data is currently being collected for accreditation.
