About  (Introduction / History)
          

          Location: Plot no. 121, Behind Ojha Sanatorium, near Safoora Goth,
                            K.D.A Scheeme-33, Off Main University Road, Karachi.


Govt. of Sindh provided 18 acres of land and Funds for the construction of the main building. PABC provides funds for the execution and operation of the project. Project
was started in 1993 and was planned to be completed in 3 phases - 

 

           Phase I : Main Hospital Building, OPDs, Installation of Nuclear Medicine
                         & Radiotherapy Equipment, Day Care Chemotherapy, Nurses 
                         Hostel

                                    ----------- Completed in 1997 --------

 

           Phase II:  200 Bed Wards, Auditorium, Library, Installation of Additional
                          Equipment
                                    ----------- Completed in 2007 --------

 

          Phase III:  Research Laboratories, PET & Bone Marrow Transplantation
                          Facilities, Residential Colony

 

                                            ---------- Later ---------

  • Essential equipment purchased and installed by mid 1999

  • KIRAN started functioning partially in December 1999

  • Formal Inauguration by Governor Sindh in September 2001

  • Phase II started in 2008.
