Postgraduate Fellowships at
KANUPP Institute of Nuclear Power and Engineering 

Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission is operating two nuclear power plants , one is under construction and more nuclear power plants are planned. The commission offers challenging career opportunities to talented and motivated young scientists and engineers after grooming them through extensive Master of Engineering Degree Program in Nuclear Power offered at  KANUPP Institute of Nuclear Power and Engineering (KINPOE), Karachi. On successful completion,  the graduates will be posted in one of our existing or under-construction nuclear power plants or related facilities. 

Salient Features

Eligibility Criteria

• Fellowship will be offered to Candidates selected on all-Pakistan basis (including AJK, FATA and FANA)

• Selection strictly on merit after a written test and interview.

• Fellowship includes stipend of Rs. 10,000/- per month, free bachelor hostel for outstation male candidates only. Rs. 500 p.m. in lieu of hostel to outstation female candidates. All NED University fees, free transport to and from KINPOE, and indoor medical treatment

• Duration of Fellowship is 2 years

• Job placement as Junior Scientist / Junior Engineer (in SPS-VIII) with three advance increments after the successful completion of M. Engg. Degree. Starting monthly pay and allowances would be up to Rs. 19,625/-per month.

• Eligibility for promotion to Senior Scientist/Senlor Engineer after two years of service (Instead of normal period of five years).

• Bond for minimum five years service in PAEC after completion of fellowship.
  

• Candidate must have one of the following or equivalent degrees

• B.Sc. (Engg.) / B.E. in Chemical, Computer Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Metallurgy

• M.Sc. in Physics and Applied Physics, or Computer Science and Materials Science (with Physics in B.Sc.)

• B.S./ BCIT (Four-year bachelors degree) in Computer Science /IT after HSC Pre- Engineering.

• Degrees must have been obtained from HEC /PEC approved institutions.

• Throughout first class academic career. (i.e. minimum 60% marks). However, one second division (i.e. minimum 45% marks) may be allowed except in the final degree.

• Age limit: 30 years as on 15 May 2006,

Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission is a multi-disciplinary organization engaged in: (i) development of nuclear power plants and fuel cycle facilities, (ii) research and development related to nuclear power and applications of isotopes in agriculture, medicine and industry, (iii) production of special materials and chemicals, (iv) design and fabrication of sophisticated components and complete units, (v) provision of highly specialized technical services, and (vi) education and training of scientists, engineers, medical doctors and technical staff in specific areas of interest.
