RADIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT

It is equipped with two Co-60 teletherapy units, Linear accelerator, HDR Brach therapy after loading system. Simulator diagnostic X-Ray, DXT and superficial X-ray units, Treatment Planning Computer, Beam Scanning System and mammography screening for the risk group is also done. Nearly 4,000 new patients are registered annually.

NUCLEAR MEDICINE DEPARTMENT

It is equipped with four Gamma Cameras. A large number of investigations including Cardiac, Thyroid, Kidney, Liver, Bone, Lung, Hepatobiliary Imaging are done here. Quantitative investigations includes thyroid uptakes, GFR and red cell survival. Whole body & SPECT studies and special studies like oesophagia transit times, heat denature erythrocyte scanning and lympho scintigraphy are also done. Radio immunoassay laboratory, hormone FSH, LH, Prolactin and growth analysis facility. About 18,000 patients visit annually to this department for various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

The maintenance department looks after the following jobs

1. Repair and maintenance of the Major Machines & Lab. Equipment, networking and computerization of the Institute. About 90-95% the problems are fixed by the In-house maintenance team. And also provide other facilities like Internet & documents scanning etc, to the Institute.

2. Operation & maintenance of power distribution system, water supply system, and HVAC system

Laboratories

BIOCHEMISTRY LABORATORY

It is designed to provide biochemical investigations to indoor and outdoor patients. These include L.F.T, Cardiac enzymes, lipid profile, renal function tests, sugar tests, electrolyte and osteo enzymatic tests.

MICROBIOLOGY LABORATORY

The following culture tests are conducted in microbiology lab. Urine, Blood, C.S.F., Pus, Throat Swabs, Sputum etc. In addition, Sputum are also examined for A.F.B.

PATHOLOGY LABORATORY

The following tests are conducted at Pathology lab.

CBC, Peripheral smear, Retro cond, ESR, Urine RE, Stool RE, Bone marrow aspiration, Bone marrow transplantation, Blood grouping/Cross matching, Blood screening HCV, HBs, HIV, DRL.

There are two wards catering for admitted patents. There are 58 beds available in two wards and 13 private rooms.
