3. Teaching, Training and Collaboration

Departmental lectures on weekly bases, participated by
Doctors and Scientists from INOR.

Weekly lectures in collaboration with Ayub Medical
Complex (gynecological unit).

A radiation related orientation course has been
arranged for technical staff of INOR.

Mr. Amjad Hussain (SS) attended the IAEA regional
training course on “Application of IAEA TRS 430 in Quality Assurance of
Radiotherapy Treatment Planning System” held at Hong Kong in October
2006.

Dr. Asif Jielani attended training course for Gamma
Camera (ADAC) in Singapore in November 2006.

Dr. Amjad Aziz Khan (Director INOR), Dr. Shakil Ahmed,
Dr. Saif Ur Rehman and Dr. Furqan Ali attended 14th Radiological
Conference held at PC hotel Peshawar. Dr. Shakil Ahmed and Mr. Amjad
Hussain attended the pre-conference workshop.

Dr. Furqan Ali (MO, Radiotherapy) has attended two week
training at Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, related to tumor registry.

Dr. Shakil Ahmad (SMO. & Head NMD), Mr. Qaisar Abbas
Rizvi (Jr. Eng.) and Mr. Habibula Haq (Tech-I) attended two week
training on Dual Head Gamma Camera at Hungary.
4. Lectures/Presentations/Events

A Symposium on Breast cancer was organized at INOR. Dr.
Ansar Pervez (Member Sciences) was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr.
Saeeda Asghar (DG Nuclear medicine & Oncology) also participated in the
symposium. The symposium was attended by the eminent Surgeons,
Gynecologists, and trainee medical officers of the region.

INOR, in collaboration with the provincial health
department has started a breast cancer awareness programme through lady
health visitors (LHVs) of the district Abbottabad. In this connection
the first breast cancer awareness programme was arranged on 27-02-2007
at Rural Health Centre (RHC) Lora. Dr. Amjad Aziz Khan (Director INOR),
Dr. Muhammad Javed (EDO Health) and Dr. Ayesha Faisal (Medical Ofificer
INOR) delivered lectures on the awareness theme related to earlier
symptoms.

One-day seminar on “Quality Management and its
Significance in the present Scenario” was organized by Directorate
Quality Assurance. PAEC, HQ at INOR.
-
Presentations on breast cancer and prostate cancer were
organized by ICI pharmaceutical participated by doctors from INOR and
Ayub Medical Complex.
