Mathematical
Modelling and Simulation Division (MMSD)
The main objectives of the MMSD
are the indigenous development of plant/process models and use of
existing simulation software for this purpose. The mathematical
modelling and simulation is used to study the behaviour of a
plant interactively under all the possible situations. This is
particularly important when testing the plant for extreme
conditions, which may lead to disaster. Simulation of plant is
helpful in the development of operational strategies, design of
control room, verification of safety systems and testing of proto
type hardware.
During the period 1994-96 MMSD was
engaged in the development of a Full Scope Training Simulator (FSTS) for CHASHNUP-1, KANUPP Analyzer and a Graphics Display
System (GDS). The group developed expertise in the use of Real
Time Products (RTPs) and fabricated a representative Control
Panel of CHASNUPP control room.
