Chasnupp Center for Nuclear Training (CHASCENT)

Facilities

CHASCENT building with a covered area of 16000 m2 houses class rooms, laboratories, auditorium, full scope training simulator, library and conference rooms.

1) Full Scope Training Simulator (FSTS)

The FSTS being the exact replica of CHASNUPP-1 main control room is utilized for training/retraining of engineers for real time simulation of different plant systems.

2) Laboratories:

CHASCENT houses well-equipped laboratories established to impart practical training to trainees and retraining to plant personnel. The laboratories are following;

• Computer Laboratory. 

• Mechanical Laboratory.           

• Chemistry Laboratory              

• Health Physics Laboratory.

• Electronics Laboratory.

• Electrical Laboratory

• Heat Transfer Laboratory.

3) Library:

The well furnished library has books, journals, plant systems manuals and other training materials.

4) Auditorium:

The auditorium with a seating capacity of 210 is meant for holding of conferences, seminars and workshops.

5) Audio Visual Room

The training materials on audio and video cassettes are available and used for training of trainees and retraining of plant personnel.
